People & Play Makes Life Better
We love bringing people together, to be a part of something bigger than ourselves, and to address the challenges so many of us face: isolation, loneliness, screen fatigue, finding connection, and discovering meaning in their daily lives.
Show up to Play
We are curious and open-minded, trading perfection for participation, expectations for experimentation, and seriousness for play.
Presence is a Practice
We choose to be here now: for a moment and a conversation — it’s how genuine connection is formed.
It's Cool to Care
We treat people, spaces, and resources
with care and intention.
Contribute
We jump in, ask questions, join activities, and start conversations. The magic happens when everyone contributes in their own way.
Include
If we notice someone standing alone,
we include them. We are all here with shared intentions.
Invite
We believe the more, the merrier. We arrive with friends, family, partners, and sometimes strangers met along the way.
Why Everyone Loved Our First Ever Play Fair
"I stumbled upon Play Fair on my walk and stayed for hours. I tried things I'd never done before, met new people, and left feeling more connected to where I live."
- David
✦
"I wish I had Play Fair when I first moved here! It was a wholesome way to meet like-minded peopled who are into the same things."
- Ella
"We tattooed 354 bananas during our workshop and made genuine connections with everyone who joined in."
- Rachel, A Third Place
"It was incredible to meet so many community builders in one place who share the same purpose of bringing people together. A few of the new connections are already evolving into future collaborations."
- Michael, McGolrick Bird Club
Our experimental idea turned into an unforgettable event with the potential to evolve into a movement. We were blown away by the positive response — we knew we found our calling! The ripple effect started long before us and we’re excited to amplify what people already do for their communities.
Our goal is to bring play back to our day-to-day lives: discover your community, turn neighbours into friends, lend a helping hand, and grow together.
How it all started
In December 2024, an overdue catch up call went down a rabbit hole of wholesome memories before touchscreens, the relatable feeling of being lost, and navigating a new city. Something clicked…
A seed for Play Fair was planted at the beginning of 2025. By summer, we hosted Brooklyn’s largest community event — by accident. Now for 2026, our goal is to host Play Fair in the cities we each call home: London and New York.
Who is Behind Play Fair?
“We love to bring people together and to be fully present in the real world. We want to build something bigger than ourselves, and to address the challenges many of us face: loneliness and finding connection.”
Playfully,
Chai & Anastasia
What does play mean to you?
"Snowball fights during blizzards, showing up at friends' homes to hang out without scheduling, sending deeply passionate yet cringe worthy love letters. Mostly saying... Let's see what happens" - Chai
"Dance offs with strangers turned friends, spontaneous days adventuring, and rollerskating to D&B." - Anastasia
